Today my mother finally found peace from the cancer she struggled against. She went quickly, and without pain.

My Politics (how I feel about certain things)
- Gay Marriage: Why should anyone care what TWO CONSENTING ADULTS choose to do as long as it is not directly harming a third party. If it offends your faith, then don't enter into a gay marriage, but let the legal protections exist for committed couples.
- Alternative Energy: Great Idea! I would love to see fossil fuels get phased out, I would also like to see consumers make more of effort to make it happen rather than just complain to the government to make it happen.
- Environment: Global Climate Change is happening, it is ALWAYS happening, deal with it. Is it bad, maybe, maybe not, but I don't think we can stop it, just mitigate it's effects and learn to live with it.
- Pro-Choice: I don't like abortion, but I would rather see our society eliminate the need for it rather than try to legislate it away.
- Pro-RKBA: Don't like guns, fine, but don't tell me I can't carry one responsibly. I have a right to defend myself.
- Education: The system could use a healthy dose of free market competition. It works for Universities, even state run institutions, why would it not work for primary schools.
- Science Education: If the scientific community at large does not acknowledge it as science, keep it out of the classroom.
- Government: Less is more, especially at the federal level. I have no idea how to reduce the size of the current bureaucracy, but I do vote to reduce its size whenever I can.
- Universal Health Care: Great Idea, but I DO NOT trust our government to run it efficiently or well. Too much graft, corruption, politicizing, etc for my tastes.
- Copyright & Patent Law: The system is broken and needs to be rolled back to what it used to be, a system that allows someone to make a bit of money off of the sweat of their brow without guaranteeing income for life
- Religion: I'm an Apathetic Agnostic raised in a Christian Tradition. In other words, I don't know, don't care, but I celebrate Christmas because I like the pretty lights and getting presents. And speaking of Religion...
- Separation of Church & State: It's a good idea, I don't care if it is not SPECIFICALLY spelled out in the Constitution. The only thing I see when religion and government mix is the legislating of morality and oppression of the non-believers. If I need a law to make me be good, I'm still a bad person, just one who will be a bad person where the lawman can't see me; and if I don't want to drink your Kool-Aid, I shouldn't have to.

my deepest sympathies.
I lost mine to breast cancer when I was 20 years old. My mother was only 43. I know what you're going through, or more precisely what you went through. First reaction was relief, because it was finally over. No one should have to go through that. That disease is a scourge, and a big part of the reason I work in the pharmaceutical industry today.
It's one of those things you never really get over, but you learn to live with it.
My prayers are with you and yours.
I know exactly what you are going through, as I lost my Mom to cancer, too. It's tough, and you are in our thoughts and prayers.....
