Facebook woes
I've been a member of the Facebook community for years now, since about 2004-2005 (I don't recall exactly). At the time, I was managing an IT department and I had a bunch of kids working for me. Facebook was a great way for me to keep in touch with my ex-employees once they graduated and moved on (and a great way for them to reach me for references and referrals). In all this time, I've never had a problem with Facebook, and over the years, I've collected quite a few friends and reconnected with lots of distant family and childhood friends. Aside from the highly annoying quizzes, I really like Facebook and use it daily to stay in touch with friends and family.
About a week ago, I found myself mysteriously unable to login to Facebook. I hit the button to reset my password and got nothing in return, no email telling me how to reset my password. Since then, I've asked for a new password dozens of times, and asked for help because I'm not getting an email in return. Facebook does not offer phone support (understandably), but aside from one automated response email to verify my email address, I've heard nothing from them. Nothing in my Spam folder either. I'm at a loss for how to fix this, and I think a week is a bit long to go without hearing anything, not even an email saying "We hear ya, we are working on it, hang tough".
My wife has kept an eye on my account and it seems like my email addres on my info is correct, and no one is yelling at me about spamming them, so I don't think my account was hacked.
ANyone out there have any ideas on how I can resolve this?

QOTD
From Phill at Random Nuclear Strikes
And it should be done with a hyped-up SWAT team, so they get the full effect.
Personally, I'm warming to the belief that anyone who publicly states that they have nothing to hide should have every aspect of their 4th Amendment rights violated just to double check.

Who's the animal
The abused dog used as a weapon, or the 16 year old who aimed that weapon?

I understand
Why people say "there ought to be a law" when you get people being this dangerously stupid. I guess it is a chicken-&-egg question, are people this stupid because the law has removed the need to be so responsible, or has the law acted because people are being such a public danger?
Also, if the cops tells you to drop it, you DROP IT!
And finally, while I applaud the effort to encourage public civility, a gun in the holster when you need it is one that might as well be back at home. If you feel threatened enough to reveal your holstered weapon, you should be doing so as you un-holster it.

Hrmmmmm
UK is the most violent country
And defying conventional wisdom, Canada is worse than the US!
Good enough for Thee, but not for Me (Admonishing executives for spending money on travel, that is. Congress has no problem spending taxpayer money on travel, go figure)

LOL!
From John Scalzi
Me: Hey, it looks like the New York Times has discovered that straight men and gay men can actually be friends!
My Gay Friend™: Amazing.
Me: I know! But they do say that there might be some Harry-Met-Sally sexual worry that the gay friend might like the straight friend.
MGF: Uh-huh.
Me: You don't see that.
MGF: Not really.
Me: So, no sexual tension between us.
MGF: No.
Me: Ever.
MGF: No.
Me: What about that one time –
MGF: No.
Me: When we were –
MGF: No.
Me: And that thing –
MGF: No.
Me: And I was naked then.
MGF: Please stop.
Me: Huh. I'm vaguely disappointed.
MGF: I'm not.
So remember, straight men: Just because your friend is gay, doesn't mean there's that OMG sexual tension there. New York Times hand-flappery about the same notwithstanding.

I can't wait to hear how all the guns in Somalia come from the US.
There is a flaw to this logic, that we need to arm these people to fend off an Islamic Resurgence. And when they fail, the radical Islamics will have all those nice, modern weapons.

YEAH! I'm a terrorist!
Engineers 3 to 4 times more likely to join violent terrorist group.
OK, maybe not since I'm not Muslim, or religious at all.
